– Together, children and teachers, have built a playground in the forest. There is always a long queue to wait for the swing, where the lucky swinger feel the tickling feeling in her stomach :-).

Meet our friend Maria Svensson who teaches pre-school in Skatås forrest in Göteborg, Sweden. She shares stories from an ordinary day at work.

Eggs from the frogs

Every spring there are thousands of frogs in the small lake not far from our pre-school. After a week with “kwaaaack” everywhere in the forest and on the footpaths you can find millions of eggs in the small lake. One child hold the eggs softly, watched the small black spots (becoming frogs) and put them gently back to where they belong.

Before using a real knife we practice with a potato peeler. It goes quickly to learn when you know you can use the real knife after a while.

In the project Common Ground – children share their stories and exchange knowledge. What does your day look like?
Common Ground is a project idea created by Joakim and Victoria Ahlén, the founders of Vilostrada – a social business dedicated to do good in Morocco through trade. It is the continuation of the Akerate School Project. Together, our goal is to provide daughters and sons, our common ground and future, with other choices, with innovation, entrepreneurship, and experimental learning. We build digital connections to the world, a network with access to knowledge, as well as fill the basic needs of clean water, electricity and school lunch. We trade with genuine artisan crafts that share a rich story of life.
